day 12

first day i forgot to take pictures.

:(

oh well.

i need to remember that this journey is about creating and not about guilt. already, i have taken more pictures than i have in a long time. so in my opinion, it has been a success.

day 11

photo fail.

the only set of photos i took from the day were of lily and they all turned out blurry (well, the carpet is in focus).

that's what i get for rushing.

day 3

only photo of the day.

sadly, i almost forgot.

i think this is going to be harder than i first anticipated.

this picture was inspired by my brother-in-law: jeff neel.

day 2

i wanted to try my hand at candid shots. i am terrible at these and never seem to be in a good place at the right time.

so here is my practice! (my wonderful friend, audrey huston, let me borrow her kiddos to practice on.)

don'tcha just love how my child looks like a ragmuffin!

oh, and i have been trying a few things by playing with the colors. i think i need to be brave and know it is okay to be more drastic.

the beginning of lent

today marks the first day of lent for 2011. while i should probably think about something eloquent to write on said topic, i will, instead, invite you to join in my artistic journey. since the birth of my baby at the end of july, i have had a yearning to do something more creative with my time. while sharing this desire with my sister-in-law, becca neel, she put forth a challenge for the both of us. the challenge is simple: post a picture everyday for lent.

-yes-

this is exactly what i have been needing! exterior motivation to cultivate (as my husband would put it) my "artsy fartsy" side. i can promise that there will be many days when the photos will be nothing more than what i can cram into the craziness that i call my life, i am hoping that through this journey i will find inspiration again.

inspiration is what finds me when i least expect it, or when i am in wholly need of it. i am hoping that through this challenge, i may discover it in both of these realms.

now all i need to do is figure out how to post pictures in my posts. hmmm....

okay. with the help of my wonderful sister-in-law, becca neel, who challenged me in this, i have figured out how to post.

-duh-

there is a little photo up at the top of the tools bar. i figured i had to upload to flikr and imbed the code. guess not.
